20 Sen Meiji 31 obverse
Date is equivalent to AD1898.
Observe that, in the case of the Japanese coinages, the denomination in Roman letters agrees with that in the native language. This is to be distinguished from, for instance, Hong Kong coins in which 10¢ is given in Chinese as "1 Chiao".
5 g, 800 fine silver, 0.1286 oz ASW, reeded edge.
