CARAUSIUS Antoninianus, RIC 482, Pax |
OBV: IMP C CARAVSIVS PF I AVG, draped, cuirassed, and radiate bust right
REV: PAX AVG, Pax stg. left holding olive branch & vertical scepter, S P in left & right fields
3.58 grams; 23.8 mm
Minted at Camulodunum, 290-3 AD
Evidence above the obverse legend at 1 and 3 o'clock shows this coin was struck twice (the extended "V" above the first "S" and the "A" that seems to take the place of the final "S" in CARAVSIVS)
