20.21 g, 900 silver, 0.5848 oz ASW, reeded edge.
Original Straits Settlements dollar was the same standard as the British Trade Dollar ; this smaller size was introduced after a spike in the price of silver led the Singapore Chinese to export & melt much of the mintage. The reduced-standard Philippine Peso was introduced at the same time for the same reason.
